Quartet
Dates Playing: 7/16/2009 - 8/2/2009
Written By: Ronald Harwood
Director: Gordon McCall
A beautiful, warm-hearted and funny play about a home for retired opera singers. Each year, on October 10th, they put on a concert to celebrate Verdi’s birthday. This year, Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts the equilibrium. A superbly written play by the author of The Dresser (Oscar nomination), The Piano (Oscar Winner, Best Adapted Screenplay), and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (Oscar Nomination).
“A bittersweet comedy about a quartet of retired opera singers and the “Quartet” from Verdi’s Rigoletto that marked a highlight of their long ago and mostly forgotten careers.”
